Man credited with Most Varsity Degrees

Sep 12, 2002
When, in the evening of life, people are usually busy looking after grand children, shopping groceries, taking a stroll in the parks, relaxing and gossiping with friends, this man of 65, still evinces keen interest and youthful zest to learn and achieve.  The urge to know the unknown has always made me curious to get to the depth of the vast ocean of education told Yegneswaran, sproting one of his famous smiles.

Rangasamudram Somasundaram Yegneswaran was made into the Limca Book of Records, 2002 as a person with the maximum number of University Degrees in India. He walked away with a gold medal for Masters in Distance Education during the Eighth Convocation of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, (IGNOU) and has a couple of first ranks to his credit. He was the associate of Chartered Institute of Secretaries, UK, British Institute of Management, UK, Institute of Administrative Management, UK, Institute of Bookkeepers, UK, Institute Cost and Works Accountant of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

At the crack of his dawn, he was up on his feet.

Financial constraints deprived him of education as a child. The news of Dr. Ram Kumar Dube with 22 degrees and Phd from Holland inspired him to get all his degrees.  Study to Learn was the motto of this degree guru.
